Something that I forgot to mention about Paranormasight is that one of the main characters, Tetsuo Tsutsumi, was made specifically for me. It's like Square Enix looked into my heart and said, "So you want Wind Waker Ganondorf in a suit with an acerbic sense of wit who is very good at his job but bad at everything else? Okay boss."



I'm also in love with one of the other main characters, Harue Shigima, a wealthy but depressed housewife. She has nothing to lose, so she might as well kill people. She's usually thinking about murder, and she's usually right. It would be an honor to be cursed by her.



And finally, I usually hate high school characters, but the ones in this game are all right. The third playable character, Yakko, is a sweet girl, but I especially like her friend Mio, who is short and round and not conventionally attractive. I wouldn't call Mio a "badass," because no one in this game is like that, but she's completely uninterested in bullshit. I would absolutely read a manga series about Mio's future adventures as a paranormal detective.

....I'm not clicking the cuts mostly because these descriptions have made me decide to play the game, lol.

If you're interested, there's nothing under the cuts except screencaps of one goofy-looking man and one very beautiful woman. It's almost a bit cringe, as both of them look almost exactly like characters I've designed myself.

But it's good to hear you're interested in the game! My feelings about Square Enix are mixed, but I love to see them throwing money at small studios creating small games in niche genres.

Once I make some progress on my backlog, I'll pick it up! Having purchased a Steam Deck makes me actually much more likely to play games on that platform. I am very bad at playing anything not FFXIV on my computer, but a handheld? I'm sold.

I've thought about getting a Steam Deck, but they're so expensive! And for that money I could buy a whole-ass PlayStation 5. I'm not the biggest fan of Nintendo, but I do appreciate that you can get a handsome little Nintendo Switch Lite for $175. I fucking love that machine. The other day I was considering getting a bright pink one, covering it with stickers, and using it to exclusively play Dark Souls.

The price thing is very valid. I...spend a lot of money on video games, because that's my primary hobby, so I have a lot of consoles. For me, one of the draws of the Steam Deck is that it's portable and I can install Windows on it and get a fully functional cheap desktop PC if I want it (my home computers are all Macs.) Then again I acknowledge that I am a weirdo about tech.
