I'm Barely Hanging on in This Universe

Sometimes people post weird meta about what character they would be in a fictional universe, and sometimes people draw fan art of themselves as an OC in that universe.
I understand the impulse, but honestly, to me this prospect is terrifying. If I were alive in the universe of any of my fandoms I would be the lamest NPC.
Like, in Twilight Princess, the gangly-limbed bug-eyed postman spends most of his time sitting on the floor in a corner of Telma's Bar and muttering to himself while reading other people's mail and wishing he could afford to eat meat. I would totally be right down there with him.
Actually, I'd probably be a generic low-level monster, not important enough for even a palette swap. The hero would defeat me by just holding down a button, and I wouldn't give much gold. I'd be like, Bro do you take debit cards.
