ChatGPT, how to I make these story pitches punchier?

(1) Ashe, amidst the haunted ruins of Nabudis with Fran and Penelo, contemplates a future as a Dynast King. Fran plays devil's advocate, urging her to embrace the power to prevent future horrors, while Penelo mourns the countless untold tales tragically cut short by war.

(2) After witnessing Queen Brahne's harrowing descent into madness, Princess Garnet readies herself for a daring escape from the castle. With her uncle and his messenger in on the plan, all the pieces are in place, except for one formidable obstacle: the unwavering vigilance of General Beatrix.

(3) Rinoa has inherited the powers of a sorceress, which bring with them the power to hear an eerie voice calling out from across time and space. As Ultimecia attempts to confuse and fascinate Rinoa with distressing stories of a dystopian nightmare in which the gift of magic is tantamount to death, Quistis and Selphie anchor their friend with unwavering faith in a future worth fighting for.

I like my original pitches better, but I can't deny that these versions are indeed punchier.

I enjoy playing with ChatGPT, but it makes me tired. Is this really what people think good writing looks like?

Chat GPT, write a 1,000 word story about Final Fantasy IX based on this premise:
After witnessing Queen Brahne's harrowing descent into madness, Princess Garnet readies herself for a daring escape from the castle. With her uncle and his messenger in on the plan, all the pieces are in place, except for one formidable obstacle: the unwavering vigilance of General Beatrix.

In the heart of Alexandria Castle, the magnificent jewel of the Mist Continent, Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII watched in quiet despair as her beloved mother, Queen Brahne, continued her terrifying descent into madness. What had once been a loving and wise ruler was now a puppet manipulated by the insidious Kuja, a sinister figure who had infiltrated the kingdom under the guise of an ally.

Garnet had long suspected that something was amiss in her kingdom. The queen's lust for power had become insatiable, and her cruelty knew no bounds. She had unleashed an army of black mages upon the innocent town of Burmecia, and now her sights were set on the peaceful village of Cleyra. Garnet could no longer stand idly by, watching her mother wreak havoc upon the land.

She knew that she had to escape the castle and seek help from her uncle, Cid Fabool IX, and his loyal messenger, Baku. Together, they had devised a plan to rescue her from the clutches of her deranged mother and the enigmatic Kuja. Garnet had already consulted with Baku, and the pieces of their escape plan were falling into place.

As she paced nervously in her lavishly adorned chamber, Garnet couldn't help but wonder how they would manage to slip past General Beatrix, the queen's most formidable and loyal knight. Beatrix was known throughout the realm for her unparalleled skill in combat and unwavering loyalty to Queen Brahne.

Just as Garnet was lost in her thoughts, the heavy wooden door to her chamber creaked open, revealing a tall figure in gleaming silver armor. It was General Beatrix herself, her long blonde hair cascading down her back like a waterfall of gold.

"Princess Garnet," Beatrix's voice was stern but tinged with a hint of sorrow. "What are you doing here all alone? You should be by your mother's side."

Garnet's heart raced as she tried to think of an excuse. She couldn't reveal her true intentions, not to Beatrix. The general's loyalty to the queen was unwavering, and she would surely report any suspicious behavior.

"I... I needed some fresh air," Garnet stammered, trying to maintain her composure. "The castle can be so stifling at times."

Beatrix's sharp blue eyes studied Garnet for a moment before she nodded in understanding. "I see. It is a troubling time, indeed. But you must be cautious, Your Highness. There are many who would seek to harm the queen, and I cannot allow any harm to come to you."

Garnet's heart sank at Beatrix's words. She knew that the general was genuine in her concern for her safety, but that only made their escape plan all the more difficult.

"Thank you, General," Garnet replied with a forced smile. "I will be careful."

Beatrix inclined her head slightly before turning to leave the chamber. As she reached the door, she paused and glanced back at Garnet. "If you ever need someone to talk to, Princess, know that I am here for you."

Garnet watched as Beatrix disappeared down the corridor, her footsteps echoing faintly in the distance. She couldn't help but feel conflicted. Beatrix's kindness and concern were genuine, but they also posed a significant obstacle to her escape.

With a heavy sigh, Garnet knew that she had no choice but to proceed with the plan. She quickly gathered her belongings and changed into a simple disguise – a plain dress and a hooded cloak to conceal her identity. Baku had assured her that he would create a diversion to draw the guards' attention away from her escape route.

As she slipped out of her chamber and made her way through the dimly lit corridors of the castle, Garnet's heart pounded in her chest. Every shadow seemed to conceal a potential threat, and every whisper of the wind sounded like a warning.

Eventually, she reached a hidden passageway that led to the castle's underground dungeons. It was a treacherous path, filled with winding tunnels and crumbling stone, but it was their best chance at avoiding detection. Garnet pressed on, her determination driving her forward.

Meanwhile, Baku had successfully created the distraction he had promised. He had ignited a series of fireworks on the castle grounds, causing a brilliant display of colors and explosions that captured the attention of the guards and servants alike. It was the perfect cover for Garnet's escape.

As Garnet navigated the labyrinthine passages, she couldn't help but think of her loyal knight, Beatrix, who had been by her side throughout her life. She knew that she would be devastated by her departure, but it was a sacrifice she had to make to protect her kingdom.

Finally, she reached the underground chamber where Marcus's colleague Zidane was waiting for her. The dimly lit room was filled with crates and barrels, providing ample cover for their clandestine meeting.

"Princess Garnet," Zidane whispered as he approached her, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you ready?"

Garnet nodded, her determination unwavering. "Yes, Zidane. Let's go."

Together, they made their way through the labyrinthine tunnels, the echoes of their footsteps fading into the darkness. They knew that their journey was fraught with danger, but they also knew that it was the only way to save Alexandria from the madness that had consumed Queen Brahne.

As they ventured deeper into the unknown, Garnet couldn't help but wonder if General Beatrix would ever discover her escape. She knew that the formidable knight would stop at nothing to protect the queen, but Garnet was equally determined to ensure the survival of her kingdom and its people.

The fate of Alexandria hung in the balance, and Princess Garnet was prepared to face whatever challenges lay ahead in her quest for justice and redemption.

...I mean, it's not bad, but still. How tedious.

Yeah, I've always found ChatGPT's writing unbearably tedious. If you're interested in playing around with a different neural network, I tend to enjoy InferKit's output more; it's clumsier but more spirited. I tried plugging a bit of ChatGPT's Garnet fic in there and hitting the 'generate text' button a few times to see what InferKit turned it into:

Princess Garnet had long suspected that something was amiss in her kingdom. The queen's lust for power had become insatiable, and her cruelty knew no bounds. Garnet could no longer stand idly by, watching her mother wreak havoc upon the land.

Suddenly, the heavy wooden door to Garnet's chamber creaked open, revealing a tall figure in gleaming silver armour. It was General Beatrix, her long blonde hair cascading down her back.

"Princess Garnet," Beatrix's voice was stern but tinged with a hint of sorrow. "What are you doing here all alone? You should be by your mother's side."

Garnet's heart raced as she tried to think of an excuse.
After all, it wasn't everyday that the queen went to battle.

"There has been an attack..." Garnet started, but Beatrix raised a hand and shot her a stern glance.

"Please, Princess, we need to speak privately. I... could you accompany me?" Beatrix asked, gesturing for her to come.

Nodding, Garnet quickly followed her general down the hall, though she felt like she was heading to her execution.

"Come, Garnet," Beatrix said, as they entered an adjoining room. "You are not in any trouble, are you? I know the attack has shaken you to the core."

Garnet swallowed, trying to look away, but Beatrix grabbed her chin and turned her face towards her. "The storm has come, my dear," she said softly. "Soon, your mother will turn her attention to our world."

Garnet froze. Her face was mere inches away from Beatrix's own. Their eyes were locked in a powerful stare. The general's lips slowly moved upwards in an uneasy smile.

"No, we are not being attacked," she reassured her. "No one knows why or when."

Beatrix relaxed slightly, a slight blush upon her cheeks. "I was... misinformed," she murmured. "I am sorry."

"It is alright," Garnet replied, attempting to break the gaze that seemed to be drawing them together.

"I am sure that in time, you will understand. We have an important decision to make, and you will be a part of that," Beatrix said, her voice hinting at an enigmatic meaning.

It's not as coherent as ChatGPT's effort, but it's more fun to read, and I respect InferKit's decision to throw in a load of sexual tension.
