Join graphic novelist Mel Gillman for a four-part workshop that will help sharpen your writing and drawing skills and guide you through the process of creating a short horror comic of your own. From structure and script development to finessing your visuals, you’ll learn to give shape to the macabre on the page from start to finish.

It's a bit pricey, and also a bit late in the evening, but I'm interested. I have a handful of scripts for short horror comics that I might be able to bring to the workshop, and I really need to get back into the habit of drawing in the evening.

I'm also interested in two lecture classes: The Secret History of Halloween (in October) and Hidden Mythology: Labyrinths and Mazes (in December). I love listening to people with expert knowledge talk about what interests them, and it's been my experience that live lectures on Zoom are way more engaging than they have any right to be.

I just had the first Halloween class this past Monday evening, and it was my experience that 7:00pm might be a bit too late in the evening for me to be able to sit at my computer and pat attention to a lecture. Also, ten minutes of the hour-long class consisted of someone with a heavy Texas accent speaking very slowly as she explained how Zoom works.

I'm not going to talk shit about the lecturer, but... Idk, it might be worth doing some research into the Labyrinths guy before I make any future commitments.

I signed up for the Labyrinths one, we'll see how it goes, if nothing else it'll be a nice block to sit down and knit.
