2023 Writing Log, Part 39
Oct. 28th, 2023 08:44 am- I wrote the third section (out of four) of “Don’t Let Her Wake,” a Zelda II story about Impa.
- I wrote the first third of “King Mode,” a Super Mario Bros Wonder story about Luigi and Bowser.
- I posted “They Only Come Out at Night,” a short creepy story about Kakariko Village in Ocarina of Time, on AO3 (here). I wrote this for The Eyes of Hyrule, a Legend of Zelda fanzine about the Sheikah, and it has a fantastic illustration by the always amazing Frankiesbugs.
- I also wrote a short blog post (here) about my inspiration for the story, as well as the lore that informs its premise.
- I applied to be a writer for Lucida Sidera, a fanzine about the ladies of Final Fantasy.
- My review of Emily Carroll’s new gothic horror graphic novel, A Guest in the House, was published on Women Write About Comics (here).
- My article “Ten Short Free Horror Games on Itch.io” was published on Sidequest (here).
- I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but I finally got around to organizing + updating my list of tags on Tumblr (here). Many of the links were broken during a recent site update, so I went through each link to make sure everything works. Probably no one cares, but I care.
Other than that, I’m finally back to work on An Unfound Door, my gothic mystery novel. I’m not into writing challenges, but it would be nice to use a small gap in my work schedule to push this project forward during the coming month.

And it would be nice if Tumblr didn't make me jump through hoops to fix the code. I remember when customizing a Tumblr page was easy. I remember when customizing a Carrd page was easy. I remember when customizing a WordPress site was easy. I remember when
