2024 Writing Log, Part Twenty
Jun. 1st, 2024 10:32 am- I finished Chapter 11 of my Tears of the Kingdom fanfic Lay the Gods to Rest. This was a struggle, and I’m not happy with the result. I’m going to wait until the next chapter is finished to post this.
- My review of the Game Boy style narrative adventure game Neko Can Dream was published on Sidequest (here).
- I contributed a short blurb about Hiromu Arakawa’s ten-volume series Silver Spoon to a list of manga recommendations for fans of Delicious in Dungeon (here).
- I also contributed a short blurb about Taiyō Matsumoto’s newest manga series, Tokyo These Days, to the May recommendations post on Women Write About Comics (here).
- I finally finished my “lowkey wizard plant shelf” botanical illustration and posted it on Tumblr (here).
- I wrote the script for a ten-panel “Trees in Video Games” nonfiction comic. It’s not too terribly deep or insightful, and I’m not such a good artist, but when has that ever stopped me.
This week I put a lot of time into projects that haven’t materialized yet. I also spent a lot of time reading and playing video games. Sometimes it’s good just to chill out and trust the process.
