I'm really enjoying the two newest chapters of Deltarune. There are bits and pieces of the game that remind me of Homestuck, and so I wondered what Andrew Hussie is up to these days. I think I found him on Instagram, and I am simultaneously amazed and 100% unsurprised.

Nobody asked, but I think the way the Homestuck fandom treated Andrew Hussie was insane. It would be nice if Toby Fox could avoid that sort of harassment. Fingers crossed I guess.

ETA: Okay but for real though. I want to go to a neon-lit clown fashion roller skate party. Where do you think they have those. Asking for a friend.

It continues to blow my mind to this day that I never got into Homestuck and everything I know about it is just word of mouth via friends. Also damn. Good for him!! Glad he's living his best life.

I know Homestuck and (by extension) Undertale/Deltarune get a bad rap due to the fandoms (which also.... yeah lolsob), but I will say that one thing I super love about Toby Fox is how scarce his presence seemingly is online. I swear he just pops up maybe 2-3 times a year to say some cryptic shit, just works on creating things he loves, shares it, then fucks off. That's life goals right there. Everyone needs to get on his level.

And I know I've expressed it multiple times already but I'm SO HAPPY to hear you're enjoying the new chapters!! 💖

I was actually just thinking about this, and you are so right. It really is the way to go. ☕

This is incredible. Good for him. Not that it's my business but now I kinda wonder if all the clown stuff in HS was ironic until it happened to unlock something, or if it was actually genuine the whole time.

Back in 2007, Hussie published a graphic novel called Whistles: The Starlight Calliope, which is about a clown’s journey across a grotesquely dystopian world. I think it might have started as a joke comic, but the tone of the story is fairly serious, and the highly detailed art isn’t something you’d expect from the creator of Homestuck. If I had to guess, I’d say the clown thing is real.

I found this graphic novel in an indie bookstore in New York, and I read it before I was even vaguely aware of the existence of Homestuck. Still, given that this is something only Homestuck superfans would know about... There are other things you can blackmail me with should the need ever arise. Please don’t use this. I would die of shame.

I have too many feelings about Vriska to judge anyone's level of knowledge/investment in Hussie's general body of work and this is fascinating, thank you.
