- I wrote the fourth chapter of The Archives of Hyrule, a dark academia Modern AU loosely based on Tears of the Kingdom. This chapter expands on the concept that the official descriptions of some the relics on display in a large national museum aren’t telling the full story. The two Zelda items I chose to illustrate this point are the Dominion Rod (from Twilight Princess) and the Coral Earring (also from Twilight Princess). “What happened to the sky islands” is going to become a major question, as is “what happened to the Zora.”

- This is also the first Ganon viewpoint chapter, and it’s always a lot of fun to write from his perspective. While I would personally find this character’s behavior extremely objectionable in real life, Ganon doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong, and he acts accordingly. It must be nice to have that sort of confidence. In any case, a character like Ganon is very convenient to me, the writer, who needs to keep the plot moving forward. Left to her own devices, Zelda would studiously pursue her personal research agenda with zero drama.

- My Lovecraftian horror story “The Limits of Human Perception” is on AO3 (here), along with an illustration by Artwins (this one here) and a short meta essay about Bloodborne lore.

- I contributed this story to Hunter’s Mark, a Bloodborne fanzine that’s free to download from Itch.io (here). Despite being an “anyone can contribute” sort of deal, the atmosphere of this zine project was very cool and chill. And it kept meticulously to schedule. And the zine looks fantastic. Good times all around.

- I got started on “A Minor Footnote,” the story I’m contributing to Glorisoa, a Final Fantasy VII zine focused on Sephiroth. Seeing as how I unironically want to live in Nibelheim, the mods graciously allowed me to write about the subterranean library of the Shinra Manor. I’ve been on a “cursed archives” kick recently, and I’m having the time of my life.

- I wrote the third section (out of four) of my Yuletide story. This section includes a fight scene. I’m not great at writing action scenes, but I think I managed to pull this one off. I also hammered out the story description and decided on a title. Everything is coming together!

- I managed to finish a short fancomic for a holiday art exchange, as well as a bonus illustration. Thank goodness! I was really worried about not being able to make the deadline, but I managed to pull through.

- It feels weird to say this, but I decided to do a Cyber Weekend sale on Etsy. I took a few new photos of the last few copies of my (current) oldest weird fiction zine (here), and also of a few extras of a cute little fox sticker that I made for a friend (here).

- Please message me if you see something you like. I use Etsy as something akin to a marketing platform, but I’m not actually making money from any sales there; I just want to share my work.

Not much to report. I’m exhausted, but I’m doing my best.

If you’re reading this, I hope you’re doing okay. It’s been a year, but we’ll make it through.
