All I want for Christmas

Now that 2025 has forced everyone to learn about Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, what I want to see in 2026 is for everyone to learn about bait.

This applies to myself as well. If I see someone being unhinged, the strategy is to immediately block and ignore. If they are unhinged in real life, I will block and ignore them in my heart.

We only have so many days on this earth. 🍵

Wise choice. I am doing better going "you know what, that is not my circus" and walking away but I can always improve.

Today on Bluesky I saw a well-respected editor of a gaming publication post that "have you ever considered that it's racist to use the term JRPG" and I literally had to pass over my phone to one of the admin assistants in my department office for the morning so that I wouldn't do something ill-advised.

If heaven exists, I hope Saint Peter sees all the replies I didn't post on social media, and I hope he appreciates all the evil that I did not see, hear, or speak.

....I made a teakettle noise when I read that. I am glad the admin was there to help. I have been struggling with a lot of opinions in the last few weeks, so at least I'm getting practice in walking away.
