Okay I thought about it on the bus to work this morning.

So like. I was highly amused that Bowser and Luigi canonically started a book club between the two movies. I wonder how that went. I bet they had fun.

Maybe this is a decent premise for a story:

I think it would be interesting for the two of them to discuss Swann's Way. Luigi didn't get to go to college, so he wants to read all the "classic" books he missed. He liked the opening of Swann's Way, but he couldn't finish it.

To make him feel better, Bowser gives a Marxist critique about the commodification of memory and the uselessness of the bourgeoisie who only care about social standing while not contributing anything to society. Bowser adds that he figured out the wi-fi password ages ago, and that he's seen Luigi's profile on Goodreads.* He knows for a fact that Luigi prefers romance novels.**

Luigi is embarrassed and tries to explain, but Bowser says it's okay to read whatever the hell you want. He suggests that they read a romance novel together for next week.
