A scammer based in Vietnam who goes by the name Thuan Ngo Chi creates an AI version of each illustration I make. He then presents them as genuine watercolours under fake profiles. There are literally 100s of examples, my entire portfolio has been copied.
These accounts seem small and harmless on Instagram, however on Facebook they have hundreds of thousands of genuine followers who engage and purchase their images. Facebook is now so saturated with these AI images, that many people cannot differentiate them from the original art they are derived from.
And they have Shopify on their side. Shopify have confirmed to me in writing that they are aware it’s a fraudulent merchant but have refused to remove the store and no longer reply to my emails.
Just in case you needed another piece of evidence that Gen-AI is garbage technology being used in garbage ways by garbage people. 🔥
