Exit 8 is a liminal space walking sim in which you loop through a (very) short passage in the Tokyo subway system endlessly. The only choice you can make is to keep moving forward or go back the way you came, and you must do this according to a set of rules: (1) If something in the current loop is different, go back; and (2) if nothing is different, keep going forward. The "anomalies" occur randomly, so you have to be observant.
If you get it right eight times, you can escape to the end credits, which play over Tokyo urban sounds that are like heaven after the time you spent in the looping corridor. If you get it wrong, though, the loop count resets to zero. Though this is more of an "uncanny liminality" game than a horror game, certain anomalies are aggressive, and obviously the loop counter resets if you die.
If you're bad at games like me, Exit 8 might take an hour to finish. If you're Markiplier or the Game Grumps, it takes about thirty minutes to play. If you know what you're doing, you can probably get to the credits in less than ten minutes.
I'm not sure that Exit 8 is actually fun to play, but it's interesting. Instead of playing the game itself, I might recommend watching someone else play it. (This) is the shortest and cleanest video I could find, and it's worth watching a few minutes for the vibes if you're into this sort of thing.
