The first thing you notice when you sit down is the music. Is this the same song that was playing when you walked into the restaurant? You can't tell. The music is too loud. Your fries are soggy. The hamburger in your hands drips mayonnaise. A boy at the next table bobs his head in time to the music. His friends start bobbing their heads in time to the music. They all have the same haircut. Their fingers are greasy. Your hamburger is rubbery and smells of dead things. You don't have enough napkins to wipe away the mayonnaise. The boys continue to bob their haircuts, and the air tastes like meat. The table is sticky.
